How Do I Contribute?

Next

Our actions contribute to the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. We can reduce these emissions and help to avoid global warming.  This is not easy.  Our lifestyles are shaped by our beliefs, values, and norms and those of the people and society around us. These factors affect the products that we choose to buy and the services that we choose to use on a daily basis. For example, is it OK for us to choose to drive to a nearby place instead of walking or bicycling? Do we really need a new cellphone or TV?

You can calculate the amount of carbon you emit by going to a Carbon Counter website.  Once you have figured out how much carbon you emit, you might want to consider changing your behaviors, contributing to a carbon offset program, and/or talking to your friends and family about what they can do to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions.
