Defining Climate Change

Next

The term "climate change" refers to the idea that global atmospheric systems could shift as time goes by, experiencing changes that include global warming (IPCC 2007; Leggett 2007). Global warming is the increase of the earth’s average temperature.  Scientists believe that global climate change is likely to be more complicated than simple "warming."  Some areas may get warmer (or colder), while others may just get drier (or wetter) or experience more violent storms.
